I. Core Features
1. Extraordinary chemical inertness
Resistant to nearly all strong acids, strong bases, organic solvents, and oxidizing agents (with the exception of a very few media, such as molten alkali metals and high-temperature fluorine gas).
Widely used in chemical equipment linings and reactor vessel seals.
2. Extremely low coefficient of friction
The coefficient of friction (0.04–0.1), which is close to that of ice, ranks among the lowest known among solid materials.
Used as oil-free bearings, guide rail coatings, and non-stick pan coatings (such as Teflon®).
3. Wide Temperature Resistance
Long-term use: -200℃ ~ +260℃ (can withstand up to 300℃ for short periods).
Suitable for aerospace and ultra-low-temperature laboratory equipment.
4. Excellent Dielectric Properties
It has a low dielectric constant (2.0), minimal loss, and stable insulation performance in high-frequency environments.
Used for high-frequency circuit boards in 5G base stations and insulation layers of special cables.
5. Hydrophobic and Oleophobic Properties (Anti-Adhesion)
The surface energy is extremely low, making it difficult for contaminants to adhere.
Medical catheter coatings (reducing thrombus adhesion), non-stick components for food machinery.

III. Limitations (Usage Notes)
1. Cold Flow (Creep)
Under prolonged stress, it tends to deform slowly—thus requiring a reinforced structural design (such as incorporating a metal skeleton into the seal).
2. Poor wear resistance
Lower hardness (Shore D50–65) → In high-abrasion applications, fillers such as glass fibers or graphite should be added.
3. High processing difficulty
High melting point (327°C) and extremely high melt viscosity make it suitable only for powder sintering or extrusion molding.
4. Radiation Sensitivity
Gamma rays or electron beam irradiation can easily cause degradation → Should be carefully selected for use in nuclear facilities.
